"According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kursk region, the total sowing area is 1 million 640 thousand hectares, spring sowing within 1.2 million hectares. There are no areas that will not sow.

In 2024, all districts of the Kursk region will be involved in the sowing campaign, the total sowing area will be 1 million 640 thousand hectares, including spring sowing will be carried out on an area of 1.2 million hectares. There will be no areas that will not participate in sowing. There are some areas of arable land that were excluded from crop rotation in the border areas, but their area has not increased compared to last year.

The authorities emphasized that the sown area indicators remained at last year's level.

According to Governor Roman Starovoit, the volume of agricultural products produced and processed in the Kursk region in 2023 amounted to 514 billion rubles, which is 70 billion rubles more than in 2022. Farmers harvested about 6 million tons of grain, 5.2 million tons of sugar beets and a record 1.4 million tons of oilseeds. “Despite the difficult economic situation, we have maintained all measures to support agriculture. 2.7 billion rubles have been allocated to the region for the implementation of projects within the framework of the state program for the development of agriculture.”
