VICE GOVERNOR ANDREY KOROBKA REPORTED ON THE PROGRESS OF SEASONAL FIELD WORK AT THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE OPERATIONAL HEADQUARTERS OF THE RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE, WHICH HELD BY THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE OF THE RF DMITRY PATRUSHEV.
As the head of the federal department noted, in general the situation in the Russian agro-industrial complex is stable. The area of winter sowing now exceeds 14 million hectares, the plan for the current year is 20 million hectares. The active phase is the collection of oilseeds, sugar beets, vegetables and potatoes. More than 136 million tons of grain were collected in bunker weight. Dmitry Patrushev emphasized that the 2023 grain harvest guarantees full provision of the domestic market, as well as the fulfillment of export obligations.
Andrey Korobka, in turn, reported that seasonal field work in the Krasnodar Territory is proceeding as usual. Farmers are completing the harvesting campaign. At the finish line, harvesting corn for grain, soybeans, sunflowers and sugar beets. In the next two weeks, all crops, with the exception of beets, will be harvested.
– Rice harvesting continues. This year, its sown area was increased to 110 thousand hectares. There were enough water resources for the entire growing season. Rice was removed from an area of 82 thousand hectares, which is 75% of the plan. The gross harvest exceeds 570 thousand tons, the yield is higher than last year - almost 70 centners per hectare,” said Andrei Korobka.
The Vice-Governor added that in parallel with the harvesting, winter grain crops are being sowed. According to operational data, sowing has already been carried out on an area of over 500 thousand hectares, which is 30% of the plan. The weather allows for the autumn sowing campaign to proceed at a rapid pace. Farmers are provided with all necessary resources and fuels and lubricants. In particular, agricultural producers purchased a sufficient amount of seeds and mineral fertilizers, carried out technical inspections and repairs of agricultural equipment.
