The Russian Federation continues to harvest crops, and according to the latest data, by November 8, 98.1 million tons of wheat had already been harvested, which is 11.2 million tons less than at the same time last year. These data were presented in the operational information of regional agricultural management bodies.
Wheat yields also decreased, amounting to 32.5 quintals per hectare, compared to 35.6 quintals per hectare last year. Wheat crops have already been harvested from 97.9% of the area. This indicates that cleaning is being carried out very actively.
As for barley, its harvest amounted to 22.7 million tons compared to 25.5 million tons a year ago, and the yield decreased from 30.2 quintals per hectare to 28 quintals per hectare. Barley crops have already been threshed on 97.8% of the area.
However, the most active harvesting continues in corn. Currently, 63% of the acreage has been threshed, and 11.4 million tons of corn have already been harvested, which is significantly higher than last year's results (7.4 million tons). At the same time, corn yield also increased from 57.5 quintals per hectare to 67.4 quintals per hectare.
According to the rice harvest, 1.116 million tons have already been harvested, which exceeds last year’s figures (866.1 thousand tons). Rice yield also increased to 62.7 quintals per hectare, compared to 57.2 quintals per hectare last year. Rice crops have already been threshed on 88.7% of the area.
Buckwheat was also successfully harvested from 92.9% of the area, yielding a yield of 1.439 million tons, compared to 1.209 million tons a year ago. Buckwheat yield amounted to 12 centners per hectare, compared to 11.1 centners per hectare last year.
In general, despite a slight decrease in yields for some crops, the harvest in Russia is quite large, which indicates that agricultural work in the country is going well. However, various factors should be taken into account, such as weather conditions, which may affect the final harvest results.
