The Minister of Transport of Tajikistan, Azim Ibrokhim, has instructed subordinate organizations to conduct experimental operation of a railway train on the multimodal route "China-Tajikistan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Turkey-Europe."
Additionally, the Minister has given directions for the construction of new transit railway lines and the gradual renewal of wagons and locomotives. According to the ministry's data, over 70% of Tajikistan's cross-border transportation is carried out by rail.
Currently, more than ten major projects have been developed in the railway sector of the republic, with plans to allocate around 7.5 billion dollars for their implementation.
Ten priority trade and transport corridors have also been identified, crossing Tajikistan from east to west and from north to south.
"Special attention is given to the development of economic and transport complex routes of Tajikistan, linking Southeast Asian countries with Central Asia, Russia, Iran, Turkey, and other European countries, providing access to seaports," noted A. Ibrokhim.
The Minister highlighted that work has been intensified on the efficient utilization of the "China-Tajikistan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Turkey" route, which "promotes regional economic integration."
