Participants of the meeting emphasized that the key task for the sustainable development of the industry is to increase the volume of raw materials. In Russia, the production of raw milk increases every year. This positive trend continues this year: from January to September, raw milk production grew by 0.7% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching 26.1 million tons. It is expected that the volumes will continue to grow in 2025.
Among the main current market trends is a significant increase in demand for dairy products. It is important to note that over the past two years, it has helped to contain food inflation. Moreover, production costs are rising faster than sales prices, especially due to the increase in logistics, packaging, wages, and other expenses. It is also worth noting that the rise in the Central Bank's key rate has a significant impact on enterprises' ability in this sector to obtain loans and limits their investment potential.
The leaders of the largest companies expressed their opinion on the current situation at the meeting and stated their readiness to make maximum efforts to contain the price increase of key types of dairy products.
