Russia is increasing wheat exports: a new forecast, rising prices on the global markets.

Representatives of the company "Rusagrotrans" reported that the forecast for wheat exports from Russia in the current season has been increased from 53.1 million tonnes to 54 million tonnes, according to new data released by analysts. This means an expected increase in grain export volumes from the country.

According to the company's forecast, the volume of wheat exports in May will be approximately 4.4-4.5 million tonnes, which is higher than in May of last year when 4.28 million tonnes were exported. More than 3 million tonnes of grain have already been exported in the first 20 days of May.

Experts also noted that prices for Russian wheat of the 4th class with 12.5% protein content for delivery in June have significantly increased since the beginning of May. Currently, the price is $245 per tonne FOB and above, which is $30 higher than the previous level.

Not only export prices, but also internal wheat prices continue to rise. Over the past two weeks, prices at deep-water ports have increased by 2600 rubles and reached 17000-17200 rubles per tonne (excluding VAT). Prices at shallow water ports have increased by 1950 rubles and now stand at 14200-14500 rubles. It is worth noting that these prices exceed last year's levels (13150 and 12700 respectively).
