In 2024, Russia is expected to reach a record high meat consumption - 83 kilograms per person per year. This growth will be driven by several factors.
The first source of growth is the increase in pork production. This is achieved thanks to investment projects launched several years ago, which are now gradually reaching their design capacity. Beef production is also increasing, but still quite insignificantly. This can be attributed to statistical error. At the same time, poultry production volumes show some decline after several years of active development.
Changes in the meat production structure are due to changes in demand and prices for meat, as well as limited supply and high prices for chicken.
Despite the positive news, there are still some difficulties. For example, there may be a possible decrease in poultry production plans due to changes in import policies, and the Russian authorities are seeking to increase exports, which may affect the domestic market. Overall, the industry expects to maintain a positive trend. Analysts believe that government support measures, such as preferential loans and state investments, will further contribute to the development of this sector of the economy.
