The Russian Ministry of Agriculture has distributed the bulk of the quota (90%) for grain exports (wheat and meslin, corn, barley) in 2024 among 261 companies (203 companies in 2023).
The total quota is 24 million tons. It does not apply to supplies to the EAEU countries and will be valid from February 15 to June 30, 2024 inclusive. Leading exporters received the largest shares. Thus, the quota of Green Gates LLC amounted to 4.22 million tons (3.24 million tons in 2023), the Reef Trade House - 3.97 million tons (4.91 million tons), the Aston company - 2, 14 million tons (2.77 million tons), MZK Export LLC - 1.31 million tons (2.11 million tons), OZK Trading (a subsidiary of the United Grain Company) - 985.75 thousand tons ( 1.1 million tons).
From 2024, in accordance with government decree, the quota for grain exports outside the EAEU is divided into the main and additional parts.
The additional quota volume will consist of three parts: 10% of the total quota volume plus the volume “released” as a result of the application of the reduction factor, as well as that formed from refusals. Exporters who have already been allocated the bulk of the quota on a historical basis will be able to apply for an additional portion.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture, grain exports from the Russian Federation this season (July 2023 - June 2024) may exceed 65 million tons. Last season, exports amounted to 60 million tons, including 47 million tons of wheat.
