Sugar factories in Lipetsk have successfully processed the fresh sugar beet harvest, handling 3.8 million tons and producing 602.3 thousand tons of sugar. This result exceeds last year's figures for the same date, when 3.9 million tons of sugar beet yielded 545.1 thousand tons of sugar. The harvest was distinguished by a high sugar content, allowing for more sugar production from a smaller volume. The production process is ongoing at six plants in the region, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture of the region.
According to Ekaterina Markova, Head of the Department of Agriculture of the Lipetsk Region, the region ranks second in the country in sugar production volumes and is among the top five leaders in sugar beet sweetness. The Lipetsk sugar industry fully meets the needs not only of the region and neighboring areas but also exports to friendly countries.
The sugar beet harvest is completed, with 4.1 million tons collected. Currently, the beets are being transported to the factories for further processing.
