The historical sugar beet harvest in Bashkortostan has put significant pressure on two operating processing plants in the region, and the processing process will continue until April, according to a TASS report. The sugar beet harvest exceeds the production capacity of the plants by more than 300,000 tons, as stated by the acting Minister of Agriculture of the republic, Ilshat Fazrakhmanov, during a meeting of the State Assembly of Bashkortostan.
According to Fazrakhmanov, only 17% of sugar beet has been harvested, and two sugar plants are already operational. Each plant is capable of processing up to 1.1 million tons, but the predicted physical volume of the harvest is around 2.43 million tons. "It can be said with certainty that the plants will continue to operate until April, impacting sugar production, but the volume will be impressive," he noted.
