In the Lipetsk region, agricultural entrepreneurs are set to harvest sugar beets on an area of 3 thousand hectares out of a total of 115.7 thousand hectares allocated for this crop by 2024. According to Deputy Governor Ilya Karlin, it has already been possible to harvest 4 million tons of beets.
On six regional plants, more than 3 million tons of beets have been processed, resulting in over 490 thousand tons of sugar. Thanks to this, the Lipetsk region retains its second place in the country in sugar production.
In addition, the region is among the top 5 regions with high sugar content and sugar yield indicators. According to Karlin, the annual production volume is sufficient to meet the region's needs and for export.
