Analysts at Refinitiv Commodities Research raised their forecast for US corn production in 2023/24 MY by 15 million tons compared to the previous figure - to 382 million tons (+33.2 million tons per year).
Experts attribute the upward adjustments to record high plant densities in Illinois and Indiana despite hot weather in late July.
Also due to near-record high levels of plant density in the country's soybean belt, the forecast for oilseed production in the US in 2023/24 MY is increased by 3 million tons, to 114 million tons (-2.4 million tons per year).
