A government decree adopted by the authorities of Poland establishes a support scheme for Polish farmers. This was announced by Jan Grabcz, the head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery of Poland, referring to RFM.
Jan Grabcz stated that the government has decided to introduce a comprehensive assistance program for Polish farmers, addressing the consequences of the war in Ukraine and its negative impact on the Polish market.
Among the reasons cited in this regard are the wide opening of the EU and Polish borders, excessive influx of grain from Ukraine, and destabilization of the situation in the Polish market.
Under this decree, it is worth noting that excess grain stocks stored by farmers will be exported before the next harvest, as Jan Grabcz also pointed out.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Poland, Michal Kolodziejczak, specified that farmers who sold grain during the period from January to March this year will receive additional payments of 200 zlotys per ton. If grain sales occur from March to May, the supplement will be 300 zlotys per ton.
“The latest provision, prepared in the last few weeks, provides specific support for Polish farmers, especially those who have sold grain - wheat, rye, triticale, grain mixture, or barley,” - noted the Deputy Minister.
