The US Department of Agriculture raised the forecast for wheat harvest in Russia in the new year to 85 million tons

The USDA has raised its forecast for wheat harvest in Russia next year by 3.5 million tons to 85 million tons. The estimate for exports has also been increased by 1 million tons. Russia's leadership in the global wheat market will be maintained.

The US Department of Agriculture in the June report immediately increased by 3.5 million tons, to 85 million tons from 81.5 million tons (according to May estimates), the forecast for wheat harvest in Russia in the new year.

The export estimate has been raised by 1 million tons to 46.5 million tons from 45.5 million tons a month earlier.

The forecast for wheat exports by the closest competitor - the European Union - has been raised to 38.5 million tons from 38 million tons.

Thus, Russia will retain its leadership in the world wheat market in the new season (July 2023 - June 2024).

The forecast for the collection of forage crops in Russia in the June report was raised slightly - to 42.25 million tons from 42.15 million tons, their export - up to 9.01 million tons from 8.91 million tons.

Corn market estimates have not changed. Its collection will amount to 16.3 million tons, export - 4.2 million tons.

The US Department of Agriculture does not take into account data on Crimea and new territories in its forecasts.

The Russian Ministry of Agriculture, taking into account the new territories, expects to harvest 123 million tons of grain this year, including 78 million tons of wheat.

According to the forecast of the US Department of Agriculture, the world harvest of wheat will be 800.19 million tons (789.76 million tons according to May estimates), feed grain - 1,513.29 million tons (1,509.53 million tons), corn - 1,222.77 million tons (1,219.63 million tons).
