The authorities believe that Makfa and other companies, including Smak and Chelyabinskoblgaz, have a corrupt origin due to the beneficiaries Mikhail Yurevich and Vadim Belousov, who were engaged in entrepreneurial activities while working in government agencies.
The Prosecutor General's Office filed a lawsuit to seize shares of the Makfa management company, as well as other enterprises owned under the management and control of Yurevich and Belousov. Among them are “Agromacfa”, “Smaka”, the first bakery, “Chelyabinskoblgaz”, “New Five-Year Plan”, “Dolgovskaya”, “Ural-Media” and others.
It was established that Yurevich and Belousov used their high position of power for personal gain and hid their commercial interests behind relatives and proxies. They managed the business through persons they controlled, withdrawing profits into the illegal sphere, according to the department.
As a result of the inspection, it became known that the Chelyabinsk Pasta Factory, the Sosnovsky Bakery Plant and the Chelyabinsk Bakery No. 1 were actually under the control of Yurevich. On their basis, the companies "Makfa" and "First Bread Factory" were created. The lawsuit aims to return these assets to state ownership.
Yurevich and Belousov, who are on the international wanted list, are accused of accepting bribes and illegal enrichment. They continue to control their business through third parties and transfer part of their assets to offshore companies in Cyprus.
