From the beginning of September until mid-month, wheat exports remained at around 2.6 million tons, corresponding to last year's figures. These data were reported by the analytical center "Rusagrotrans."
The forecast for the entire September is 5.3 million tons (in 2023, this figure was 5.5 million tons). Regarding export prices for Russian wheat for delivery in September-October, "Rusagrotrans" notes their stability at $216-217 per tonne FOB, while the prices for wheat with delivery in November are $220 per tonne.
It is worth noting that French wheat has increased by $8 to $245 per tonne, German wheat has risen by $4 and now costs $254 per tonne, while American wheat has increased by $1, reaching $246 per tonne.
"Rusagrotrans" also points out that the September report from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) had a bearish influence due to an increase in the forecast for global stocks for the 2024/2025 season, but did not affect prices. The crop estimate in the European Union was reduced, but the forecast for Russia remained unchanged at 83 million tons. However, there were changes in wheat harvest data for Australia and Ukraine.
According to analysts, the prices for 4th class wheat in deepwater ports have increased by 200 rubles and amount to 16500-16600 rubles per ton without VAT, while in shallow water the prices have increased by 900 rubles, reaching 15200 rubles per ton. These figures exceed last year's values (15100 and 12400 rubles per ton, respectively).
Internal prices for 4th class wheat with a protein content of 12.5% (EXW elevator) have increased by 500 rubles in the south of Russia, reaching 14500 rubles per ton without VAT, while in the Volga region prices have risen by 750 rubles, amounting to 13500-14500 rubles.
In the Central region, prices remained unchanged at 13400-14000 rubles, while the market in Siberia experienced low liquidity due to rains, which hindered the harvest.
“Thanks to the long-awaited dry weather, the harvest has accelerated, but this only worsened the disappointment in the quality of wheat after prolonged rains. Increased sprouting, low rootability, and unevenness are particularly noticeable,” emphasized experts from "Rusagrotrans."
It was previously reported that the quality of Altai wheat decreased by 14% due to heavy rains over the past two weeks.
