Around 1.9 million tons of new harvest grain were found, which represents approximately 87% of the total volume collected in the Tambov branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Grain Quality Assessment Center" as of September 16. The data was obtained within the framework of state monitoring.
Experts took over 2,600 samples of wheat and conducted more than 50,000 tests in the laboratory. The results showed that 81% of the total volume of tested grain meets food standards: 25% is classified as the third grade, and 56% as the fourth grade.
Specialists note that grain of the third and fourth grades was found 20% more this year compared to the previous one. The share of third-grade wheat has more than doubled - from 12% in 2023 to 27% in the current year. At the same time, the volume of fifth-grade wheat, which is not suitable for food use, decreased and accounted for 19% of the total volume of surveyed grain, last year this figure was 39%.
