Agrarians of the Samara region have already harvested 44% of grain and leguminous crops

The harvesting campaign is in full swing in the region. Its interim results were discussed at an operational meeting in the government of the Samara region.

Local agricultural producers have already removed 44% of the sown areas of grain and leguminous crops. More than 1.4 million tons of grain have been threshed. As noted by the Minister of Agriculture of the region Nikolai Abashin, this year's harvest will not repeat last year's record, but the region will fulfill the plan of 2.47 million tons of grain. Productivity exceeds average long-term values.

As the head of the Cabinet of Ministers - First Vice-Governor Viktor Kudryashov noted, "this is the result of the great work of agricultural producers, as well as the system of measures to support agricultural enterprises from the government of the region."

- For five years, we have been stimulating agricultural producers to purchase elite seeds, use mineral fertilizers and increase the technical equipment of enterprises. We are very actively updating agricultural machinery, and the average age of the fleet of agricultural machinery and equipment in our farms is much lower than in many other regions of the Russian Federation, Viktor Kudryashov noted.
