Soybean reserves in China decreased by 19% to 5.3 million tons by February 2. Oil processing volumes also decreased ahead of the Chinese New Year: 1.9 million tons of soybeans were processed in a week, which is 4% less than the previous month but 50% more than a year ago.

According to the calculations of CNGOIC, soybean reserves in China decreased by 19% in a month, reaching 5.3 million tons by February 2. This indicator is also 0.4% lower than the previous year on the same date in 2023.
It is noted that despite a 18% reduction in soybean reserves in a week, oilseed processing volumes are also decreasing ahead of the Chinese New Year.
Specifically, from January 27 to February 2, 1.9 million tons of soybeans were processed, which is 4% less than the previous month, but 50% more than in the same period a year earlier in 2023.
