"This year, the harvesting campaign in the region started at the end of July. Dry and warm weather during August-September did not interfere with the work of machinery and had a positive impact on the speed of harvesting. In October, farmers continue to harvest grains, potatoes, and vegetables. Vegetables are mainly grown by organizations in the Vologda district, and more than half of all potatoes are planted in the Ustyuzhensky district. By October 1, they had harvested almost 34 thousand tons there," commented Victoria Kartashova, the chief specialist of the Vologda branch of the Center for Agroanalytics.

By October 1, the plans for harvesting flax and rapeseed in the region were fully met. Flax was baled to 2.8 thousand tons from 1.3 thousand hectares. Rapeseed was harvested from 2.6 thousand hectares. Due to the increase in sown area in the region, 22.5% more rapeseed was threshed than the previous year, totaling 5.5 thousand tons in dry condition. It was grown by farmers of the Vologda and Gryazovetsky districts.

The region's plans for the 2025 harvest include 4.5 thousand hectares for winter crops, including wheat on 2.9 thousand hectares, rye on 1.3 thousand hectares, and rapeseed on 0.3 thousand hectares.
