Despite the challenging weather conditions, the harvesting process in the Kostanay region is in full swing. So far, 1.1 million hectares out of the planned 4.3 million hectares have already been harvested. Agricultural enterprises have gathered 1.4 million tons of grain crops. This information was released by the Ministry of Agriculture press service.
It is noted that 37 accredited grain receiving enterprises of Agricultural commodity-producing enterprises are ready to accept the new crop; their storage facilities with a capacity of 3 million tons are already prepared. Agricultural institutions have storage reserves with a capacity of 5.3 million tons. Elevators currently operate only during the day, but a round-the-clock mode will be introduced if necessary.
Measures have also been taken in the region for drying wet grain. There are 403 grain drying plants available. Of these, 105 belong to grain receiving enterprises, and 298 are used by agricultural producers. For uninterrupted operation of the dryers, 13.2 thousand tons of diesel fuel have been allocated. In total, 83 thousand tons of diesel fuel have been allocated for field work.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture data, there are 191 licensed grain receiving enterprises in Kazakhstan with a total storage capacity of more than 13.2 million tons. Agricultural producers have storage facilities for 15.8 million tons of grain. This volume is sufficient for grain storage according to harvest forecasts.
There are 1,300 grain drying plants in grain receiving enterprises and agricultural enterprises across the country. By the end of the year, it is planned to purchase an additional 80 installations. For this purpose, a financial program has been developed to provide loans for the purchase of grain dryers during the harvesting period at an annual interest rate of 9%. The state subsidizes 30% of the cost of this type of agricultural equipment. Currently, 6 applications from farmers totaling 260 million tenge have already been received.
