In the Stavropol region, the sowing of winter rapeseed has begun, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture of the region.
Agricultural enterprises in 11 districts of the Stavropol Territory have started sowing winter crops, including rapeseed.
The regional Ministry of Agriculture has provided information about the allocated areas for this crop. Over 98 thousand hectares of land in 20 districts have been allocated for rapeseed cultivation.
"For the 2025 harvest, it is planned to sow more than 2 million hectares of winter crops," said the first deputy minister of agriculture of the Stavropol Territory, Elena Tambovtseva.
It is worth noting that rapeseed, or oilseed rape, is an important cultural resource for the agro-industrial sector of the Stavropol Territory. This winter crop is valuable as a source of oil, which is used in the food, cosmetic, and other industrial sectors. Additionally, rapeseed is an important animal feed.
Rapeseed is characterized by high yield and resistance to various climatic conditions, making it popular among agricultural producers in the Stavropol Territory. Furthermore, rapeseed cultivation contributes to soil improvement and increased yield of other crops, bringing significant benefits.
It is important to note that agricultural enterprises in the Stavropol Territory prefer to use domestic seed material for sowing winter crops, including rapeseed.
