The consortium "New overland grain corridor" plans to establish a grain and container terminal in Sarakhs jointly with Iranian partners. This project is intended for delivering grain from Russia to Iran, and its launch is scheduled for 2027. Valery Dubrovsky, the first deputy managing director for strategic development and implementation of priority projects at EPT LLC (part of the "New overland grain corridor"), shared this information with journalists, as reported by TASS.

According to Dubrovsky, it is planned to build a similar terminal in the city of Sarakhs on the territory of Iran, which will become a hub similar to the "Grain+" hubs being created in Zabaykalsky Krai. The main components of this project will be grain and container terminals, with the launch planned in 2027.

The cost of the grain terminal will be 10 billion rubles, and the container terminal - 7 billion rubles.

It is worth noting that the company EPT has already built a similar terminal in Zabaykalsky Krai, and the creation of a similar container terminal is also planned on an adjacent site.

The company EPT previously announced its plans to deliver 26 million tons of grain to Iran between 2024-2035. An agreement to this effect was signed with the Iranian logistic company Iranian Eurasia Trading and Logistics, which is a resident of the special economic zone "Sarakhs". This zone is an important transit route from the countries of Central Asia and the Middle East. Grain will be delivered to Iran in specialized grain-container wagons, and in the opposite direction, consumer goods and food products will be transported.

The company EPT is part of the group of companies "New overland grain corridor", which is engaged in creating and developing infrastructure for exporting grain and oilseeds to China and Central Asian countries in the territories of Siberia, the Urals, and the Far East. EPT is involved in contract production and development of storage facilities in the Urals, Siberia, and the Far East. The main goal of the company is to increase grain production in these territories to 60 million tons in the medium term and up to 90 million tons in the long term.
