One of the largest agricultural regions in the Russian Federation - Krasnodar Krai - exported 231 thousand tons of oilseeds during the first half of the current year. This was reported by Ruslan Khasanov, Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Grain Quality Assessment Center", as reported by Interfax.

The export of oilseeds in the first half of 2024 remained at the same level as in the same period of last year. Specialists from the Novorossiysk branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Grain Quality Assessment Center" controlled the export of over 231 thousand tons of oilseeds, such as flax seeds, coriander, mustard, sunflower, safflower, and rapeseeds.

In particular, from Krasnodar Krai, 140 thousand tons of flax seeds, 27 thousand tons of coriander seeds, 21.3 thousand tons of mustard seeds, 16 thousand tons of sunflower seeds, and 15 thousand tons of safflower seeds were shipped.

Oilseeds were sent to 29 countries in Asia, the European Union, the Middle East, and Africa. The main importing countries of oilseeds from Krasnodar Krai are Belgium, China, Bangladesh, and Turkey.

Ruslan Khasanov noted that in the first half of 2024, the export of mustard seeds to Bangladesh increased by 17 times compared to the same period last year. In addition, the export of mustard seeds to Nepal was resumed, where almost 132 tons of seeds were sent since the beginning of 2024. Previously, in 2018, no shipments of mustard cultivation were made to the country.

Before being exported from the ports of Krasnodar Krai, grain products undergo testing in the testing laboratories of the Novorossiysk branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Grain Quality Assessment Center".

Khasanov emphasized that each importing country sets its own requirements for the quality, safety, and quarantine phytosanitary condition of the imported products. Russian grain, especially grain grown in Krasnodar Krai, is in demand on the world market due to its high quality and safety.

Last year, the region increased the export of oilseeds by almost four times - up to 320 thousand tons. The products were supplied to 22 countries worldwide.
