Export of corn from the Krasnodar Region has exceeded 1 million tons in five months: corn from Russia is chosen by 12 countries in the world.

From January to May 2024, more than 1.1 million tons of corn were exported through the ports of the Krasnodar Territory for food needs to 12 countries worldwide. This information is reported by the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Grain Quality Assessment Center" in its press release dedicated to World Corn Day in the cob.

“Turkey, Libya, Vietnam, South Korea, and Lebanon” - some of the main importers of Russian corn, according to the official statement.

Corn is a useful and nutritious grain crop that contains the highest amount of vitamin C compared to other crops. It also contains vitamins A, B, E, and various minerals, including calcium. An interesting fact is that even in canned form, almost all essential elements are preserved.

According to the data presented in the press release, Russia is among the top 10 countries in terms of corn cultivation and yield, and the Krasnodar Territory is the leading region in the production of this crop. In 2024, the sown area reached 429.3 thousand hectares, and the crop volume was approximately the same as the previous year when more than 2.3 million tons of corn were harvested in Kuban with a yield of about 61.6 centners per hectare.
