In April 2024, prices for agricultural products in Kazakhstan decreased by 0.3% compared to the previous month, according to the National Statistics Bureau.
The data from the statistical agency shows that sunflower seeds prices decreased by 1.3%, buckwheat by 0.6%, rapeseed seeds by 0.4%, wheat by 0.2%, while flax seeds became more expensive by 1%.
During the reporting period, prices for greenhouse cucumbers decreased by 7.6%, potatoes by 3%, onions by 2.3%, greenhouse tomatoes by 1.3%, cabbage by 0.7%, carrots became more expensive by 1.2%, and beets by 0.4%.
Eggs became cheaper by 6.3%, natural honey became more expensive by 3.4%. Also, poultry meat prices increased by 1.5%, mutton by 0.9%, beef by 0.6%, and horse meat by 0.5%.
The production of agricultural products in January-April 2024 increased by 1.7% compared to the same period last year, reaching a total production volume of 1 trillion 174 billion tenge. Crop production amounted to 49 billion 894.3 million tenge, while livestock production reached 1 trillion 107 billion tenge. Agricultural services amounted to 178.9 million tenge. The fisheries and aquaculture sector produced goods worth 7 billion 853 million tenge.
During January-April 2024, 605.9 thousand tons of livestock and poultry were slaughtered or sold for slaughter, 1432.2 thousand tons of cow's milk were milked, and 1446.2 million chicken eggs were produced.
According to the statistics bureau, the number of cattle amounted to 9698.5 thousand heads, sheep - 24,001.3 thousand heads, horses - 4624.3 thousand heads, and poultry - 46,407.3 thousand heads.
