In the Ukrainian wheat market (according to the terms of the SRT port), prices continue to decline due to an excess of grain and low demand.

In the port of Odessa, prices have decreased to $226-232 per ton CPT port, while in the Danube port, they range from $227-231 per ton CPT port as of May 8, 2025.

The Russian agricultural supervisory authority is tightening monitoring of exports with banned chemicals to Turkey. Russia has sent 2 million tons of grain, some Russian companies have exceeded the chlorpyrifos norms.

In the Perm region, 14% of the tested seeds of spring crops do not meet the standard - 5.4 thousand tons for purity, 2.4 thousand tons for germination, 100 tons for moisture, and 400 tons for pests. The total percentage of seed quality is 86%. The Ministry of Agriculture plans to change the seed evaluation methodology.

This week, 8,235 tons of grain were sold from the state fund for 127 million rubles.

The total sales volume since the beginning of August amounted to 280,935 tons for 4.2 billion rubles. Sales are made to stabilize prices in the market, and the auction will continue from May 5 to May 7.

The company "Miratorg" has launched a breeding and seed center in the Kursk region. It offers 300,000 planting units of corn seeds for its own needs and sales. Hybrids with high yields will be used in livestock farming.

Prime Minister Mishustin announced plans to modify the state agricultural development program. The changes involve tightening control over subsidies, simplifying the process of obtaining grants, and introducing special regulations for border regions.

Grants for seed production will only be available to domestic companies. These measures are aimed at increasing crop yields and competitiveness of producers.

A new limit has been set for duty-free corn imports to Turkey - 1 million tons until July 31, 2025. However, due to the existing 500,000 tons at the customs, only half of the limit will be available.

The initial limit for this year was also 1 million tons, but it was exhausted a month earlier due to high demand for animal feed.

The branches of the company AGROTRAY have started planting soybeans. This year, over 12 thousand hectares have been allocated for soybeans. The active phase is ongoing in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, while in Kharkiv it has been completed. Planting is expected to be completed by next week.

The agricultural production index in the 1st quarter of 2025 was 101.7%, slightly lower than a year ago.

In March 2025, the volume of production increased by 1.6%, exceeding February by 1.4%. Sales of grain decreased by 26.7%, sunflower seeds by 28.9%, while milk increased by 3.7%.

By March, grain stocks had decreased by 26.2%.

Deputies of the Mazhilis noted issues with storage and processing of oilseeds crops. It is planned to build small storage facilities for agricultural producers. Government support includes subsidies for equipment and infrastructure. Increasing crops requires significant investments.
