According to the opinion of the chairman of the board of the Association of Agricultural Machinery Dealers "АСХОД" Alexander Altynov, some Western agricultural machinery manufacturers, especially family companies, that have left the Russian market may return. This point of view is expressed by the magazine Field.RF.
"There is a strategic interest of Western companies in the Russian market. Therefore, not everyone has completely left it. Some of them are waiting for the opportunity to return. There are some difficulties with corporations like John Deere, and I do not expect drastic changes, but family businesses and small companies may come back," Altynov said.
In March 2022, the world's largest agricultural machinery manufacturer, John Deere, temporarily stopped supplying products to Russia and Belarus. The Russian agricultural machinery manufacturer KOBLiK GROUP bought the former plant of the company in Orenburg, which currently produces about 1,000 machines per year. AGCO, an American corporation, also left the Russian market, and its Russian division, AGCO-RM, was renamed to OPTITEK. The new company sells equipment from friendly countries and has launched the production of its own machines at a plant near Moscow.
Altynov responded to a question about the future prospects of sales of Western machinery and stated that the association expects a further decline in demand in the market due to the complex situation.
The Union of Trade Centers has appealed to international clothing manufacturers with a proposal to return to the Russian market with the help of local partners.
