Russia's Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has approved a decision allowing the export of rapeseed seeds from the Zabaykalsky Krai at the lowest customs duty rate. This was announced by the head of the region's Ministry of Agriculture, Denis Bochkarev.
"The validity period of the tariff quota for rapeseed exports through the checkpoints of Zabaykalsky Krai has been extended until August 31, 2025. The duty will remain unchanged at 6.5% of the customs value. The established export volume for agricultural producers in the region is 23.1 thousand tons. This support measure has been in effect in our region since 2020 and is aimed at developing oilseed production," explained Denis Bochkarev.
The head of the region's Ministry of Agriculture also noted that a letter had been sent to the Russian government earlier requesting an extension of the tariff quota, which was signed by Governor Alexander Osipov.
"As a result, a decision was made to annually extend the permission for the export of oilseeds until 2028, until the gross harvest reaches 150 thousand tons of oilseeds," the minister reported.
To achieve the goals of the national project "Small and Medium-Sized Entrepreneurship and Support for Individual Entrepreneurial Initiative," Zabaykalsky Krai must present a modern plan for the production of oilseeds and the development of the oil and fat industry, including the launch of a rapeseed processing plant.
It is equally important to note that this year agricultural producers in the region harvested rapeseed from an area of 13.5 thousand hectares, which is twice the figure of the previous year. As a result of harvesting, the gross rapeseed collection almost five times exceeded the 2022 figure and amounted to 17.3 thousand tons.
