Thieser Alnaser, an international logistics expert, shared information with RIA "Voronezh" that currently, 10,000 tons of barley from the Voronezh region and neighboring regions of Russia are being loaded at the port of "Kavkaz" for export. Recently, this Russian with Syrian roots returned from a business trip to Jordan, Egypt, and Turkey, reporting a significant increase in demand for products under the brand "Made in Russia."
Due to the lack of rains in early January, the sowing season in the mentioned regions took place in unfavorable conditions, and experts are predicting a future crop deficit in Turkey and the Middle East. Therefore, foreign companies are already ordering batches of the first June harvest from Russia in general and from the Voronezh region in particular. Special interest is shown in Voronezh barley and bran, which are used for producing quality animal feed. Voronezh bran has received high praise abroad. Additionally, currently, 2,000 tons of Voronezh barley are being purchased for the brewing sector in Turkey and for food production. Bran is especially well-purchased in Turkey and Egypt.
Thieser Alnaser notes that the global demand is also influenced by the situation in Latin America, where the Amazon River, the largest in the world, is experiencing water depletion. In some settlements along its banks, problems with drinking water arise, and in some areas, vessels unexpectedly run aground.
Drought is also felt in Argentina, where a decrease in corn and soybean harvest by five percent or more has already been noted. Latin American countries were previously the main suppliers of these products. The current situation contributes to an increase in demand for animal feed both in Argentina and in other countries.
In addition to these promising directions, international trade contacts established as a result of participation in the international food and beverage exhibition Food Africa at the end of last year are also developing. For example, 700 tons of flax were purchased in Saudi Arabia for bakery needs. There is also a demand for Voronezh flour and sunflower oil there.
