In the Tyumen region, the sowing campaign has begun, as announced by Governor Alexander Moor. The first to start sowing annual grasses on an area of about 50 hectares was the Yarkovsky district and the LLC "Agrofirm Mezhurechye." The governor shared this news in his official Telegram channel.
This year, the entire Tyumen region plans to sow 996 thousand hectares of land, which is 11 thousand hectares more than last year.
The governor noted that all the necessary stocks of seeds, fertilizers, and lubricants for the sowing campaign have already been prepared. He also expressed confidence that the region's farmers will do everything possible to get a good harvest this year.
In the Tyumen region, a variety of crops are sown, including wheat, oats, barley, peas, corn, rapeseed, and flax. Planting of potatoes, cabbage, beets, carrots, onions, and various types of lettuce is also carried out. Grain and leguminous crops traditionally occupy more than 70% of the total sown area. Some farms in the region conduct experimental plantings of sunflowers, garlic, and mustard. In addition, local farmers are also engaged in cultivating berry crops such as currants, black-fruited mountain ash, and sea buckthorn.
