According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Krasnoyarsk Krai, as of May 14, sowing is carried out in 35 out of 37 crop-growing areas, and two more northern farms will join them in the coming days. In total, sowing has been completed on 319 thousand hectares, which is 23.5% of the plan. Farmers are planting cereal crops, legumes, oilseeds including rapeseed and flax, as well as vegetables for borscht - potatoes, carrots, beets, and onions.
This year, farmers from the Sukhobuzimsky district, members of the agricultural cooperative "Zerno," decided to sow lentils for the first time on 1.1 thousand hectares. According to the farmer Yevgeny Kalinovsky, this decision was made to increase profitability. "The main task is in the conditions of rising costs per hectare of sown area. In addition, lentils are resistant to drought and are a good predecessor for cereals, as well as improve soil quality by enriching it with nitrogen. We plan to export the harvest, and there is already a preliminary contract in place," he said.
The Minister of Agriculture of the Krasnoyarsk Krai, Ilya Vasiliev, noted that this year spring was free from weather problems and the conditions for planting agricultural crops were optimal. The work pace in the fields is quite high. Soil moisture closure has been achieved on more than a million hectares, which is 91.5% of the plan. 103 thousand hectares have been fertilized, and around 100 thousand tons of seeds have been processed.
"Farmers work confidently thanks to high-quality seed material, machinery and equipment, timely purchase of mineral fertilizers and lubricants, as well as government support. Subsidies per hectare of sown area, potato and vegetable cultivation, grain production and sales, and other purposes play an important role," emphasized Ilya Vasiliev.
