Starting from September 20, the Krasnoyarsk region has introduced an emergency regime due to excessive humidity.
According to the National Agricultural Insurance Agency, agricultural enterprises in the region actively used insurance mechanisms this season: almost 525,000 hectares of crops were insured, with 50% covered by the emergency protection program. The main focus was on insuring grain crops - 409,000 hectares, as well as insuring 70,000 hectares of rapeseed. Contracts were also signed for the insurance of peas, potatoes, soybeans, and forage grasses.
A meeting was held with agricultural producers and crop insurers, with more than 80 farms participating. The President of the National Agricultural Insurance Agency, Korney Bizhdov, and the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Krasnoyarsk region, Larisa Beletskaya, led the meeting. Representatives of the agency and heads of departments dealing with agricultural risk insurance in member companies of the union discussed the procedure for submitting damage claims and provided recommendations on key stages of interaction with insurance companies. The majority of the meeting time was devoted to answering practical questions from farmers, including regarding the current process of damage assessment and settlement of insurance cases.
"The problem of excessive soil moisture this year became the second risk, when for the first time in the emergency insurance system, settlement of large-scale losses was organized. The peculiarity of the autumn excessive moisture in the Siberian region is that it affects grain crops, especially wheat. The meeting with farmers of the Krasnoyarsk region showed that this situation has its own specific features in damage assessment procedures that require attention. The National Agricultural Insurance Agency monitors certain specific issues from farms in the Krasnoyarsk region that are currently undergoing settlement procedures," noted Korney Bizhdov.
