The increase in exports has stimulated the market, leading to an increase in freight rates by $2 when transporting goods from the Danube ports of Ukraine to Italy. However, export volumes are not yet sufficient for shipowners to benefit more. Experts from Spike Brokers inform that the availability of idle tonnage in ports still slows down the rate growth and does not allow them to rise above the level of the previous week.
The message notes that freight on barges remains at minimum levels, awaiting an increase in cargo volumes, which has not yet occurred.
According to the latest report dated September 25, the market rates for river transportation were as follows:
- Izmail – Constanta, Romania – 10 euros (1-3 thousand tons);
- Izmail – Serbia – 30-31 euros (5-7 thousand tons);
- Izmail – eastern coast of Italy – 27-29 dollars (5-7 thousand tons);
- Reni – Turkey – 17-18 dollars (5-7 thousand tons).
For transportation from the port of Chornomorsk, the following rates apply:
- Eastern coast of Italy – 21-22 dollars (30-35 thousand tons);
- Eastern coast of Spain – 21-23 dollars (25-30 thousand tons).
