In the Stavropol Krai, sugar beets harvesting continues, with more than 60% of the sown areas already harvested at a yield of 384 centners per hectare, slightly lower than last year due to drought, as reported by "Stavropolskaya Pravda" publication.
More than 40 farms in five districts, including Izobilnensky and Kochubeevsky, are engaged in beet cultivation on a total area of 36 thousand hectares. The highest yield is achieved in the Kochubeevsky district - 600 centners per hectare, with sugar content in beets reaching 17%.
The "Stavropolsakhar" plant currently processes up to 5200 tons of beets per day and plans to increase its productivity to 8000 tons after equipment modernization.
