According to Conab's monitoring data, as of February 10, only 21% of the planned 15.9 million hectares of soybeans have been harvested (+7% in a week), exceeding last year's rate (15%).
It is noted that favorable weather conditions have allowed work in the fields in the states of Mato Grosso and Paraná, where an increase in oilseed crop yield has also been recorded. At the same time, a rainfall deficit has negatively affected crop yields in some areas of Rio Grande do Sul.
In Brazil, the harvesting of the first corn crop continues, which has been completed on 19% of the planned areas (+5% in a week, compared to 11% last year). In particular, more than half of the designated areas have already been harvested in Rio Grande do Sul. Significant progress has also been made in Paraná and Santa Catarina.
As for the planting of the second corn crop, it has already been completed on 32% of the plan (+12% in a week, compared to 20% last year), with the greatest progress observed in the state of Mato Grosso, where drought and high temperatures contribute to early plant development. However, the lack of rain and high air temperatures in Paraná and Mato Grosso do Sul are negatively impacting the crop condition.
