According to the data of the Russian Agricultural Centre, the area sown with soybeans in the Krasnodar Krai is 190 thousand hectares. As of today, July 29, 2024, only 403 hectares have been harvested, which is just 0.2% of the total area intended for harvesting in this region.

Preliminary data shows that in Russia as a whole, the planned area of soybean crops has significantly exceeded, reaching 4.05 million hectares, which is 100.8% of the plan. However, in the second largest soybean cluster - the Far Eastern Federal District - the soybean areas decreased from 1.37 million hectares to 1.17 million hectares (-15% compared to 2023).

The largest decrease occurred in the Primorsky Krai, where 123.2 thousand hectares of soybeans were sown this year, which is 51.1% less than last year (309.5 thousand hectares). However, this territory accounts for only 18% of the total soybean production volume in the Far Eastern Federal District. The leading soybean producer in this district and in Russia as a whole is the Amur Oblast, where 1,428.7 thousand tons of soybeans were harvested in 2023, accounting for 20.9% of the total national volume. In 2024, the soybean area in the region was 895 thousand hectares, which is 1.3% less than in 2022. Due to drought, there may be a reduction in the crop yield in the southern regions of the country, however, a large share of the areas allocated for beans - 47%, is in the Central Federal District, where a high yield is expected this year.
