In this region, they have started harvesting the sugar beet crop, the area of which farmers expanded this year. However, in spring, farmers had to replant 27 thousand hectares due to frost, and then they faced dusty storms and a dry summer, which had a negative impact on the expected harvest, as reported by the news portal Vesti-Voronezh.
Nevertheless, in some farms, the quality indicators of sugar beets remain at a very high level. In Anninsky district, where the digging process continues even at night, the yield is approximately in line with last year's results, but the sugar content in the roots has increased to 18.5-19%.
Currently, all eight sugar factories in this region have already started accepting the harvest.
