In Ukraine, corn harvesting has begun - according to the latest data from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the process, which has already started, has covered 6.6 thousand hectares in the Cherkasy and Poltava regions. During a brief period, 29.7 thousand tons of grain were collected with a yield of 45 c/ha.
As of today, a total of 6.802 million hectares of grain and leguminous crops have already been harvested, which amounts to 62% of the planned area. The total gross grain harvest is estimated at 28.712 million tons with an average yield of 42.2 c/ha.
Let's consider the details by crops:
- wheat - 21.76 million tons were harvested from 4.86 million hectares (100% of the plan). The yield was 44.8 c/ha;
- buckwheat - 18.3 thousand tons were harvested from 12.4 thousand hectares (14%). The yield was 14.8 c/ha;
- millet - 45.5 thousand tons were harvested from 24.7 thousand hectares (28%). The yield was 18.4 c/ha;
- other grain and leguminous crops - 909.3 thousand tons were harvested from 287.9 thousand hectares (81%). The yield was 32.4 c/ha.
Regarding oil crops, the data is as follows:
- sunflower - 419.4 thousand tons were harvested from 256.5 thousand hectares (5% of the plan). The yield was 16.3 c/ha;
- rapeseed - 3.4 million tons were harvested from 1.23 million hectares (98%). The yield was 27.7 c/ha;
- soybeans - 381.8 thousand tons were harvested from 223.7 thousand hectares (8%). The yield was 17.1 c/ha.
As of August 29, sugar beets were harvested only on 1.2 thousand hectares (less than 1% of the plan), resulting in 56.9 thousand tons collected with a yield of 494.8 c/ha.
