Turkmenistan is ready to create a transport corridor together with Tajikistan, which would connect the two states with access to the Caspian Sea. This was stated by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during negotiations with the head of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, ASIA-Plus reports with reference to the government newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan.
The head of Turkmenistan proposed to use the possibilities of the port of Turkmenbashi (former Krasnovodsk) in the Caspian Sea.
He noted that "the transport sector is the absolute priority of the Turkmen-Tajik cooperation today."
According to him, efforts here should be directed to the creation of a powerful and modern infrastructure that ensures the unification of the transport systems of Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
