The project of the greenhouse complex "Alania" in North Ossetia, which aims to increase the production of greenhouse tomatoes to 19,000 tons by 2026 from 15,000 tons, has the Minister of Agriculture of the region, Alan Kusraev, lending a hand. The company plans to build a 60.2-hectare greenhouse for growing fruits and vegetables, including tomatoes. Upon reaching the project capacity by 2026, a harvest of over 18,800 tons of tomatoes is expected.

However, Alan Kusraev believes that the new greenhouse complex will fully meet the region's demand for tomatoes and also supply them year-round to residents of other regions of the North Caucasus and Central Federal Districts. To implement the project of the Alania company, investments of 15 billion rubles are planned, creating 860 new jobs, and completing the construction of the greenhouse complex by the end of the current year.

Industry representatives have noted that the market already has a sufficient supply of greenhouse tomatoes from local producers and faces significant import pressure from Turkey, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan. Competing with "Alania" will be companies capable of supplying vegetables from afar, such as "Eco-Culture." Despite this, "Alania" is confident in the success of its project, allowing for year-round tomato cultivation in greenhouses, especially in winter when the demand for this product is most relevant. However, even during this time, the enterprise will have to compete with Turkey.

The announcement of the intention of the greenhouse complex "Alania" to build in North Ossetia appeared in the summer of last year. Investments in the project exceeded 16.5 billion rubles, and the construction agreement was signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum by the head of the republic's administration, Sergey Menyailo, and the CEO of the company "Alania," Dmitry Chernyavsky. It was envisaged that the company would be able to grow various varieties of tomatoes and produce an annual volume of 36,000 tons of tomatoes by 2024.

The LLC "Alania" was registered in North Ossetia in 2018, with an authorized capital of 10,000 rubles. In 2023, the company reduced its revenue by 21% to 1.7 million rubles and incurred a loss of 16 million rubles. The main activity of "Alania" is vegetable cultivation in greenhouses. In early 2024, "RSKH-Finance," which owned a 1% stake in the company, exited the founders, and now LLC "Dynasty" is the sole founder.
