Over the next five years, a project to build a new grain elevator complex in the Cheremshan district of Tatarstan is planned to be implemented. Preparation for the project has already begun, with an investment amount of 1 billion rubles.
According to the head of the municipality, Ramil Aybatov, construction of a grain elevator complex in the Cheremshan district of Tatarstan is planned for the years 2025-2030. Currently, the investment amount is estimated at 1 billion rubles, as he stated in an interview with the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The decision to build a new grain elevator complex was made due to the need to increase capacities for obtaining seed material and grain. The project is being funded by the company "Bio-Agro," which has been operating in the Cheremshan district since 2016.
The new grain elevator complex will be designed to store 30,000 tons of grain, emphasized Aybatov. It is expected that the implementation of the project will create 39 new jobs.
The financial director of "Bio-Agro," Almaz Khasanov, mentioned that a land plot has already been selected for the construction of the grain elevator complex. The project will be implemented in two stages.
"Work is underway to formalize the ownership of the land plot, which belongs to us. Currently, surveying and pre-project work are being carried out," Khasanov stated.
He also elaborated that the construction of the grain elevator complex is planned to be financed by the company's own funds and loans, including preferential resources and subsidies for agricultural producers. The financing ratio of these sources is 20/80.
Khasanov also noted that currently, the construction of a grain drying complex with a seed plant is ongoing in the Aksubaevsky district of Tatarstan.
Last year, a grain elevator complex was opened in the Sviyazhsk multimodal logistics center in Tatarstan. The investment amount in this project was 2.8 billion rubles, and the facility is designed to simultaneously store 122,500 tons of grain.
Currently, the construction of an elevator in the Bugulminsky district of Tatarstan is also underway. The general director of the company "August," Alexander Uskov, mentioned that the facility is designed to simultaneously store over 112,000 tons of grain. It is planned to be put into operation this summer.
Both elevators will help address one of the main problems in the agricultural sector of Tatarstan - the surplus of grain, which puts pressure on prices, emphasized Uskov. The primary goal is to export around 1 million tons of grain from the republic annually.
In 2023, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan, Marat Zyabbarov, mentioned that by the beginning of April, more than 2.1 million tons of grain from the previous harvest were stored in the republic. Half of this volume was in elevators. According to the minister, state elevators could be a solution to the grain surplus issue.
The agricultural holding GK "Krasny Vostok" also has plans to build new elevators. They plan to place them in the Sviyazhsk interregional multimodal logistics center and in the village of Sakony (Alekseevsky district). The investment volume in these projects was estimated at 1.2 billion rubles. The general director of the holding, Adel Khairullin, mentioned that the elevator in the river port of Kazan will continue to operate until 2026 and may become a cultural and recreational object in the future.
