The insurance company "VSK" compensated losses to farmers in Tuva due to drought: the amount of payments reached 2.5 million rubles.

In 2024, all farmers in the Republic of Tuva who decided to insure their crops have already received compensations from the insurance company "VSK". Agricultural crops suffered from intense heat and dry weather.

According to the information from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tuva, this year farms from the Pi-Khemsky and Dzun-Khemchiksky districts decided to insure their crops. They incurred losses and were compensated with corresponding payments. The insured protection was organized by the insurance company CJSC "VSK". The total amount of payments for these farms amounted to about 2.5 million rubles, while they paid an insurance premium of 142 thousand rubles in the spring.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic, agricultural insurance in Tuva has been paid out to farmers for the third year in a row, but in 2024, the payment volumes became the highest in the region.

"The insurance company VSK reports that the main payments are for the grain crop – oats. The bad weather this year was accompanied by strong winds that damaged the crops. The harvests were insured under the crop multi-risk insurance program, allowing to compensate for losses after the end of the agricultural season. The insurance company VSK has taken all necessary measures to ensure that payments are made to the farmers of Tuva on time," emphasized NSA President Korney Bizhdov.

"Currently, only individual farms in the Republic of Tuva are insured and on small crop areas of agricultural crops. We anticipate that the practice of crop insurance in the region will expand," added the NSA President. - Earlier, the NSA conducted educational events for farmers together with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tuva and the regional branch of the Bank of Russia - informational seminars were held in 2021 and 2023.
