Stavropol State Agrarian University (Stavropol SAU) and a number of agricultural enterprises (AE) "Resource" have signed a partnership agreement in the field of training specialists for the agricultural industry within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024), the university's press service reported.
The main areas of cooperation will include joint work on training and employment of highly qualified specialists for the sustainable development of the domestic agricultural sector, as well as modernization of higher education based on the interaction of science, education, and production.
Specific tasks include creating and implementing target programs, strengthening professional orientation for schoolchildren, conducting practical classes and internships at enterprises. In addition, the company will develop a system of named scholarships and grants to support gifted students and the best teachers.
"The educational process and scientific activities in universities should be based on business interests and reflect its tasks. I am confident that the cooperation between our scientists and the use of the university's laboratories and production facilities will ensure the high-quality training of graduates," said Vladimir Sitnikov, the rector of Stavropol SAU.
"Resource" AE is one of the leading producers of poultry meat and oil and fat products in Russia. The company is interested in cooperating with the university due to high demand for personnel in the Stavropol region, where the company's key assets are located, including poultry farms, hatcheries, broiler growing areas, feed mills, processing plants, and over 20,000 hectares of agricultural land. The total number of employees of Stavropol enterprises of the company exceeds 10,500 people.
"The agreement with Stavropol SAU is another important step in forming a comprehensive approach and cooperation that will allow for the exchange of relevant practical knowledge," noted Dmitry Antonov, Senior Vice President of "Resource" AE.
