Growth in oilseed production in the Volgograd region in 2023

According to Volgogradstat, in 2023, oilseed production in the Volgograd people increased by 1.5% compared to last year. The total sunflower harvest amounted to 1,355.1 thousand tons, which is growing by 10.5%.

Experts note that one of the reasons for the increase in production was the increase in sown areas by 6%. On average, one hectare yielded 1.8 tons of sunflower.

Agricultural organizations make the greatest contribution to oilseed production in the Volgograd region, their share is 62%.

It is worth noting that the Volgograd region ranks second in the Southern Federal District in the production of sunflower seeds, and its share in all-Russian production is 8.1%.
