The Volgograd region ranks second in the Southern Federal District in sunflower seed production, and its share in the overall Russian production is 8.1%.

According to Volgogradstat, in 2023, oilseed production in the Volgograd people increased by 1.5% compared to last year. The total sunflower harvest amounted to 1,355.1 thousand tons, which is growing by 10.5%.
