According to the IA "APK-Inform", starting from last week, there is a continuing increase in the price of fodder barley on the Ukrainian export market.
Mainly, this is due to the restraint of sales by agricultural producers, forcing importers to raise purchase prices for barley to fulfill previous agreements. At the same time, there is a slowdown in the pace of purchases by the main importer - China, which leads to a slowdown in the pace of barley price growth. Increasing price dynamics in related markets also support demand for barley.
For instance, at the ports of Odessa, asking prices for fodder barley have increased by 2-3 dollars per ton and as of September 27, 2024, range within 165-175 dollars per ton CPT-port. Meanwhile, at the ports of Danube, asking prices have increased by 1-2 dollars per ton and are in the range of 168 to 176 dollars per ton CPT-port.
