However, this restrictive measure will not apply to rapeseed seeds exported from Russia in accordance with international agreements between governments.
The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia proposes to extend the ban on the export of rapeseed seeds from the country until August 31, 2024. The corresponding draft resolution has been published on the federal portal of draft regulatory acts.
The document states: "To establish a temporary ban on the export of rapeseed seeds from the Russian Federation from March 1 to August 31, 2024, inclusive."
The draft resolution also indicates that the ban will not apply to the export of rapeseed seeds to the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as to the provision of international humanitarian aid to other countries in accordance with the decision of the government of the Russian Federation. In addition, the ban will not apply to the export of rapeseed seeds from Russia under intergovernmental agreements.
In August 2023, the government extended the ban on the export of rapeseed seeds until February 29, 2024.
