Minister of Trade and Industry of Mali, Moussa Alasan Diallo, informed that the share of wheat supplies from Russia accounts for 40% of the total imports to the country. Diallo conveyed this information in an interview with RIA Novosti.
In addition to fuel and fertilizers, Russia is the main supplier of agricultural products for Mali. For example, wheat constitutes about 40% of all imports, the minister noted.
Diallo also mentioned that Mali intends to start exporting its agricultural products to the Russian market and is already taking appropriate steps in this direction.
The minister added: "We would like to export a number of agricultural products to Russia, including cotton, sesame, cashew nuts, and mangoes - these are the crops that our ministry is actively working on".
