The Somali side has received a shipment of 25,000 tons of grain from Russia, which will help the government of the republic deal with the consequences of the flooding. The humanitarian aid shipment was delivered to Somalia on November 30, according to the agency. The grain was handed over to the Somali Agency for Disaster Management. Various government officials of the republic, including Minister of the Interior Ahmed Moalim Fiqi and Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport Abdullahi Ahmed Ilka-Jir, as well as the Russian Ambassador to Djibouti and Somalia, Mikhail Golovanov, were present at the ceremony. This shipment of grain will help provide necessary assistance to communities affected by the floods. The Somali government has expressed its gratitude to the Russian Federation for its support. On August 22, Vladimir Putin announced that negotiations on gratuitous supplies of 25-50 thousand tons of grain from Russia to six African countries are in the final stage. Earlier, the head of state mentioned Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, Mali, Somalia, the Central African Republic, and Eritrea among these countries. On November 28, the special representative of the Russian president for the Middle East and African countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, stated that the implementation of grain deliveries to several African countries has begun.
