A record grain crop in Crimea is sufficient to ensure the region's food security.

In Crimea, 1,528 thousand tons of grain were harvested this year, with record indicators in some regions. The harvest ensures food and feed supply. Agricultural machinery coped with drought thanks to changes in sowing. Authorities emphasize the importance of investments in agriculture.

In Crimea, a huge harvest was gathered this year - 1,528 thousand tons of grain. The highest indicators were recorded in the Leninsky, Krasnogvardeisky, Simferopolsky, and Saki districts of Crimea. The Acting Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea, Alima Zaredinova, reported this at the press center of RIA Novosti Crimea.

This harvest, considering the weather conditions of this year, is quite high. It allows us to fully provide ourselves with food, seeds for sowing winter crops, and fodder grain for livestock farming, said Alima Zaredinova.

The farmers were able to achieve such a harvest despite the lack of precipitation. During sowing, they had to change their plans due to a lack of moisture in the upper soil layer, explained Zaredinova.

The subsequent abundant rainfall in November and frost in December affected the harvest, leading to a disruption of the root system. The lack of precipitation in the winter-spring period also affected the crop formation, she noted. Roshydromet confirmed soil drought in areas such as Razdolnensky, Krasnoperekopsky, Pervomaisky, and part of the Dzhankoy district, added Alima Zaredinova. The harvest in these regions turned out to be low.

According to the Head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, the volume of harvested grain is sufficient to ensure food security in the region. The development of agriculture in Crimea is progressing rapidly thanks to the efforts of local residents and the government's support in the agricultural sector. Over the past 10 years, about 25 billion rubles have been directed to this industry, reminded the head of the republic.
